F-Gas Regulation

F Gas regulation No.842/2006 became UK Law in 2007, which means a company cannot undertake any activity, such as maintenance, repair or installation, on air conditioning or heat pump equipment without having an F Gas certificate. 

It is the responsibility of both parties to ensure the company is fully trained to undertake the relevant maintenance or repairs. 

The F Gas regulation also places a legal obligation on the users of the equipment to ensure low emissions of greenhouse gases, be it through regular maintenance and/or repairs or replacement. 
TM44 Assessment

A ‘TM44’ air conditioning inspection is required to ensure that ‘comfort cooling’ air conditioning systems are energy efficient. A registered assessor must view the system and file a report. Trading Standards officers will use this database when carrying out their checks. 

The checks are carried out every 5 years and should you be found to not be compliant you could receive a fine. All businesses operating air conditioning equipment with a collective cooling output of 12kW or more must have an inspection.
